The Autobán Self-Publishing Fair Takes Place on August 15–16 in A Coruña with Sponsorship from PuntoGal
A Coruña, August 4, 2025 | As part of its commitment to supporting initiatives related to the Galician language and culture, PuntoGal continues to champion self-publishing fairs as projects of strategic interest. Its collaboration in these events contributes to their stability, professionalization, and outreach, helping to establish them as key spaces for creative and cultural expression.
The summer of 2025 kicked off, as tradition dictates, with FunFunFun—the veteran Santiago-based event that has become a benchmark showcase for illustration, comics, music, and alternative publishing. This fair marked the beginning of a season full of diverse, open, and participatory cultural offerings.
In August comes the next major event: Autobán, which shares dates with the historic Viñetas desde o Atlántico festival in A Coruña. With a free-spirited and inclusive atmosphere, Autobán will take place on August 15 and 16 in the streets, in a festive setting that encourages spontaneous participation and connection between artists and the public. The fair has become an essential meeting point for lovers of self-publishing and independent creation.
A Wide Range of Products and Activities
The 2025 edition of Autobán will repeat and update a formula that has been working for years, with strong involvement from local artists, guests from other regions and countries, and a diverse offering that ranges from well-established projects to first-time creative experiments.
The fair’s offerings include comics, upcycled clothing, ceramics, 3D-printed objects, satirical publications in surprising formats (such as handwriting practice books or furniture catalogs), patches, tattoo designs, and coloring books.
Best Galician-Language Fanzine Award
One of the new features of Autobán is the Best Galician-Language Fanzine Award—an initiative that aims to highlight and value self-published work created in Galician. This prize brings attention to the creativity, identity, and effort of the artists who choose the Galician language as a vehicle for artistic and editorial expression. The winner is selected by a jury of professionals from the field, and the award serves as further encouragement for creative work and the visibility of self-publishing in Galicia.
An Event to Watch Closely
Autobán continues to grow as a reference event for self-publishing in Galicia, with a model that promotes diversity, accessibility, and collaboration across cultural sectors. To keep up with the latest news and access the final program of activities, it’s recommended to follow the fair’s social media and visit their website: autoban.gal.
