PuntoGal will sponsor the Video Game Museum of Galicia for three more years

Santiago de Compostela, February 24, 2026 · PuntoGal will sponsor the Video Game Museum of Galicia (MUVI), located in Cangas do Morrazo, for three more years. This is the main agreement included in the new partnership signed between the Galician domain and the Video Game Museum of Galicia Foundation (MUVi).

PuntoGal will continue as the museum’s main sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to supporting initiatives linked to the Galician language, culture, society, and technology, and contributing to the continuity of the project. The agreement includes PuntoGal’s brand presence in the Foundation’s activities, events, social media, interviews, and public communications.

Jacobo Martínez Nieto, director of the Video Game Museum (MUVI), stated that “this agreement with PuntoGal strengthens the relationship between cultural heritage and the digital environment, advances the visibility of Galician video games online, and promotes joint outreach and communication initiatives, deepening a shared framework of language, culture, and identity while opening new avenues for collaboration within Galicia’s cultural sector.”

For his part, PuntoGal’s CEO, Darío Janeiro, said that this collaboration “fully aligns with our corporate program supporting projects that promote the use of the Galician language and digital innovation. PuntoGal was one of MUVI’s first collaborators—an institution dedicated to preserving the memory of Galician and Galician-language video games, as well as a space for preservation and research, without overlooking its educational and recreational dimensions.”

The Video Game Museum of Galicia Foundation is the first foundation in Spain devoted exclusively to the history of video games. Established on March 2, 2020, it was officially recognized as a Foundation of Galician Interest on July 20, 2020, by the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Xunta de Galicia.

The foundation was created out of the need to recognize video games as a form of culture and art, connected to the virtues of the playful dimension of human beings. It views video games as a medium of communication, expression, and creation, as well as an educational tool in the broadest sense of the word.
