Subscríbete ao galego: PuntoGal, Dinahosting and the Asociación de Medios en Galego celebrate another year of journalism in our language

Santiago de Compostela, April 27th 2026 | This May, on the occasion of “Día das Letras Galegas (Galician Literature Day)” and Internet Day, the Asociación de Medios en Galego (mediosengalego.gal), the service provider Dinahosting (dinahosting.gal) and PuntoGal (dominio.gal) join forces to support the usage of the galician language on the media through the iniciative “Subscríbete ao galego (Subscribe to galician)”.

From May 17th to May 31st, people who subscribe to any of the media participating in the campaign will receive a .GAL domain and a totally free hosting for a period of one year. This offering has a monetary value of over 170€.

Beneficiary users will receive their codes to get their hosting and domain for free until June 30.

Reasons behind “Subscríbete ao galego”

In an increasingly global context, deeply conditioned by the use of digital technologies, the Asociación de Medios en Galego, dinahosting and PuntoGal join forces to promote a greater presence of our language on the Internet.

Through this initiative, the beneficiaries will be able to gain access to a .GAL domain free of charge and a web hosting service, which will allow them to have a professional email account with their own domain and start up their web project without facing upfront costs. This is an opportunity to promote the creation of content in galician and advance in the normalization of the language also in the digital field.

At the same time, this campaign contributes to strengthening the participating media. Offering value to people who decide to subscribe is an effective formula to expand the social base and reinforce the presence and relevance of galician media.
